I am a scholar of French language, literature, and culture, with a specific focus on nineteenth-century France and sound studies.
After receiving my PhD in Romance Languages & Literatures in May 2021 from Harvard University, I began working as Visiting Assistant Professor French Studies at New York University Abu Dhabi.
My research explores the literal and figurative roles of noise, dissonance, and disruption in nineteenth-century French literature, history, and culture. I am also interested in gender, representations of violence, literary cartography, and digital humanities. My work has been published in Dix-Neuf and The Balzac Review, and I'm currently working on a monograph based on my dissertation work as well as a digital humanities project concerning sound in nineteenth-century Paris.
In addition to research, I love teaching and working with students.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
